-This bench top unit is for testing of thermal conductivity of non-metallic matesials using guarded hot plate per ISO8302 and ASTM C-177-04-The equipment consists of a central heater with hot plates, a guarded ring with heater and hot plates, and two water cooled cold plates
-Two speciments are insterted between the hot plates and cold plates
-The assembly is encased in a test cabinet with insulation
-The cold plates are clamped together to provide a uniform pressure
-Temperature sensors and indicators are provided for hot plates, cold plates, cooling water, and differential temperature between the hot plates and the guard ring plates
-Power input is measured by a voltmeter and an ammeter
